Beginning in September 2008, BHA extended its outreach programming through a joint venture with Brownsville Parks and Recreation Department’s Urban Center at Gonzalez Park. This project is called the Southmost Heritage Center and allows BHA to offer its traveling exhibition series, programs and resources to the residents of Southmost. The Southmost Heritage Center is located inside the Urban Center at Gonzalez Park and is a community-curated cultural center that tells the story of Southmost in a fun-interactive setting. The Southmost Heritage Center hosts presentations, workshops, and exhibitions throughout the year.
