Thank you for considering the Brownsville Historical Association for your photographic needs.  Our locations serve as a gorgeous background for bridal and engagement pictures, senior portraits, and other photographic opportunities.  For further information or to set a date, you can contact the Brownsville Historical Association at 956-541-5560 for the Stillman House or 956-554-4965 for the Alonso Building.

 

Photography Policy

Visitors to our locations are welcome to take photographs and shoot videos for informal and personal use.   When taking pictures of exhibits and artifacts, no flash photography is allowed.  Personal photographs and videos are not to be used for commercial purposes without the permission of the Brownsville Historical Association.

 

The "Professional Photography Fee" includes admission for all members of the group, including the photographer. Based on availability, a private changing room is provided for the client. Wedding, Portrait and Commercial photography are subject to certain rules and restrictions.

Photography Fee: $30 per hour with a minimum of two hours

 

Wedding and Portrait Photography

 For those considering the Brownsville Historical Association’s museums as the location for wedding, engagement, bridal, senior class, family or business portraits, please review the rules and guidelines in advance of your photo shoot.

 

Commercial Photography

Photographs and videos are not to be used for any commercial purposes without authorization. Professional photographers must contact the BHA in advance before photography or filming of any kind. Projects will be approved on a case-by-case basis, and the BHA reserves the right to refuse any project. The BHA will not allow any implied or actual endorsement of a product, institution or ideology.

 

The BHA reserves the right to refuse admittance for photography and/or to change its Photography Policy without advance notice.

 

Locations

Photography is permitted in any of our locations, including the Stillman House Museum, the Brownsville Heritage Museum and the Historic Alonso Building.  Private areas such as offices, bathrooms and private apartments are not available to photographers.  The BHA reserves the right to deny the use of certain locations for photographic use.

 

Friendly Reminder

All visitors of the Brownsville Historical Association want a pleasant experience. Please be courteous and do not block pathways or other areas in any way. Remember that the BHA is a public place where visitors are welcome in all public areas, and that regular business continues during normal operating hours. Thank you!

 

Policies for Photographers

Photographers will be held liable for any damages caused to BHA property by themselves or their photo subject.

The BHA reserves the right to refuse admittance for photography or eject photographers and photo subjects not in compliance, and to change this Photography Policy without notice.
